Obituary for James A. Goseland
James Anthony Goseland, 53, passed away Thursday March 9, 2023. He was born May 2, 1969 to Don Goseland and Janice Gamblin in Wichita, Kansas.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jane; Daughters Breanna and Alicia; Son-in-Law Jacob Hinkle and Grandson on the way Clayton Hinkle (Breanna and Jacob), as well as many others. Preceded in death by Granddaughters; Audrey and Judith Hinkle (Breanna and Jacob).
Jimmy always told his daughters and wife how bad of a kid/young adult he was, but he succeeded at his life goal of being the best father and husband he could. The laughs that he could get out of his wife and kids was never ending. Jimmy was his daughter Alicia’s softball coach for 10 years and was at every game and every practice. With Breanna he got her into hunting and fishing as soon as she could walk and they still continued to go together every year 23 years later. In his off time he loved shopping and building stuff for hunting and fishing with his best buddy who he considered his son, Jacob. Jimmy worked at Spirit Aero Systems for 27 years and always knew how to go to work and make everyone laugh. He made so many amazing friends in his time at Spirit that he truly cherished. Jimmy’s death was truly a shock, a man who succeeded at life and will be missed forever by many.
Visitation 4-7pm Thursday, March 16, with funeral services 2pm Friday, March 17, all at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
