Obituary for Jack McKinley

Jack S. McKinley, 92 passed away on 31 March 2021 in Wichita, KS. He was born 18 Feb 1929 in Bellefontaine, Ohio the son of Henry C. McKinley and Ruth Wiseman. First and forever Jack was a Marine! Afterwards he was selected by his Congressmen to attend the United States Naval Academy and upon graduation he selected the United States Air Force as his next service. As an officer he had assignments in the states to include Mobile, AL; Arlington, VA; and Los Angeles CA and overseas assignments in the Philippines, Germany, France, Spain, and Thailand. Culminating a 32-year career, Jack retired in 1976 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Always making things happen, Jack used his procurement expertise and embarked on a career with the Parsons Corporation working on Petrochemical, DOE, DOD and transportation projects. Once again, his assignments landed him in unique places such Iran and Saudi Arabia and after 20 years Jack retired to sunny California.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and only sibling Jeanie Hartsky. Survivors include his four children; Steve McKinley and his wife Tulili from Austin Texas; Jack McKinley and his wife Susan from Centerburg, Ohio; Lizbeth Rusinko and her husband Bill from Harker Heights, TX; and Susan Ferguson and her husband Michael from Mulvane, KS. He was grandfather to 11 children and great grandfather to 17. His memorial will be 23 Jun 21 at Riverside National Cemetery, 1:45 p.m.
