Obituary for Jack Steven Mann

Jack Steven Mann, 70, retired supervisor at Kice Industries, passed away March 11, 2022. He was born in Wichita, KS on June 23, 1951, to Walter and Edith (Vytlacil) Mann. Jack grew up in Haysville, KS where he met and married Debra K. (Gifford) Mann on June 27, 1969. He was an avid KU basketball fan, enjoyed rebuilding his Corvette, and he was a happy dog-dad to his little buddy, Maury. Above everything, he was a proud father, grandpa, and great grandpa. Jack has always been a tall, big man, but the tough exterior did not truly represent the kind, easy-going man that he was. Over the years, he might have had the grandkids believing he was once a green Power Ranger; but to his family, he was our real-life superhero. His passing leaves a huge hole in our family that can never be filled. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie, his parents, Walter and Edith Mann, and his grandson, Andrew Goodman. He will be deeply missed by his children: Carla (Doug) Mann-Hageman of Walton, KS, Jeana (Randy) Scott, and Matthew Mann, both of Wichita, his siblings, John (Penny) Mann of Wichita, and Bill (Laurie) Mann of Rosalia, his 6 grandchildren, and his 8.5 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation with family present Wednesday, March 16th from 6-8:00 p.m., and funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17th, both at Smith Family Mortuary in Haysville.
