Wichita - Ileen Joan Schaar, 97, a longtime homemaker died Thursday, January 25th, 2024 in Wichita, KS. She was born August 15th, 1926 to Raymond and Winifred McCrea in Wichita, Kansas. Ileen was very active in the PTA, Room Mother, Little League Baseball scorekeeper and chauffeur. Ileen and her two sisters would meet every afternoon to discuss world events. In later years Ileen and Henry enjoyed dancing to country music, and a passion for bingo. After Henry's passing in 2015 Ileen seriously injured both hips and moved to Derby Assistance Living.

After a month stay at the hospital with RSV and pneumonia Ileen was brought to Larry and Colleen's home under hospice care and died with Larry and Colleen at her side.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Raymond and Winifred McCrea, Husband Henry, son Philip, sisters Rajean Kanaga and Faye Miller.

Ileen is survived by her Son Larry Schaar and daughter in law Colleen. Grandsons Jeremy Schaar and wife Aimee and her children Tony and Dylan Letterman. Ryan Schaar and wife Molly and two great granddaughters Sammie and Sofie, Matthew Banbury and wife Amber and two great grandsons Gus and Willie. And Granddaughter Kelly Erl and husband Christian and two great grandsons Iggy and Ozzy.

Visitation: Thursday, February 1st, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Family Mortuary Chapel 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby, Kansas 67037. Funeral Service: 1:30 pm, Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at Smith Family Mortuary Chapel 1415 N. Rock Rd. Derby, Kansas 67037. Interment to follow at ElPaso Cemetery.
