Obituary for Harry Feikert

Harry H. Feikert September 19, 1953 – May 5, 2022 (68 years old)

Harry Feikert lived a life full of adventure, love and beauty. Harry was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to a doting mother and a father in the Air Force. He traveled the world in his childhood, and ultimately followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the Air Force at just 18 years old. His 27 years in the service took Harry to many interesting places in the United States and Europe. He retired at the highest enlisted rank – Chief Master Sergeant. Regardless of where his career took him, he fell in love with the mountains of Colorado, so he eventually called Colorado Springs his home.

His best friend was his father, Harry Feikert Jr., who he would often buy the latest gadgets for, spend time with and take weeks-long road trips around the country with.

Harry was the eldest of five children, and he took that responsibility seriously, particularly later in life when he’d help his siblings with taxes, take photographs at every family gathering, and visit every few months.

Harry’s family was much larger than his parents and siblings, he was an active member of FUEL Church in Colorado Springs. FUEL Church is where Harry fell in love with the Lord, was baptized and became a follower of Christ.

Harry was intelligent, caring and he appreciated the beauty around him. He will be deeply missed by his father Harry Feikert Jr., his brothers Mike Feikert (Connie) and John Feikert (Lori), his sisters Daylene Hendricks (Brad) and Terri Philbrick, his nieces and nephews, many friends and his beloved cat, Martin.

Harry is joining his mother, Marvalee “Bobbi” Feikert in Heaven.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, May 19th and Funeral will be 10:00 am Friday May 20th, both at Smith Mortuary in Derby, KS. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established with FUEL Church, PO Box 939, Monument, CO 80132.
