Obituary for Gregory A. Henderson

Belle Plaine - Henderson, Gregory A.,
71, passed away Monday, September 28th, 2020 in the comfort of his home. He was born February 5th, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas to Edgar and Francis Henderson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from October 4, 1967 to December 13, 1968. On August 9, 1970, he married the love of his life, Iris Henderson in Belle Plaine, Kansas. The next day he began his career of serving his city with he Wichita Police Department as an officer and later, as a 911 dispatcher. Greg and Iris welcomed three children into their lives and made their home in Belle Plaine, Kansas. Greg was a member of the First Baptist Church and a friend to everyone he met and considered you family. His presence was well known in Belle Plaine at social events where he volunteered his services as a photographer. He had a passion for trains, tigers and his country, all of which he shared and passed on to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Francis Henderson.

Gregory is survived by his wife, Iris Henderson; three children, Tara (Ward) Mocaby, Heidi (Mike) Harding, Robert (Stephanie) Henderson; eight grand kids, Bryant Mocaby, Jared Mocaby, Liberty Harding, Eden Kizer, Toni Kizer, Brooke Kizer, Timothy Henderson and Ivan Henderson; two brothers, Gene (Cindy) Henderson, Doug Henderson; sister, Kathy Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service with Military Honors: 10 a.m., Friday at Belle Plaine Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Kansas.
