Obituary for Gary Farris

Gary D. Farris, 75, was born to Otis and Reba (Crum) Farris on April 8, 1947 in Kennett, MO.

In 1979, Gary met and fell in love with his partner in crime Debbie Harshfield. On August 29th, 1980, at the Sedgwick County Courthouse, they decided to make it official by tying the knot. During these remarkable 43 years, they raised 3 perfect children, Tina, Stephen and Ashleigh.

Gary was the Owner-Operator of Farris Trucking LLC. A business that he was extremely proud of. He loved being a truck driver and was outstanding. Oftentimes over the years he would take his family in his "big rig" as much as he could. He was the King of corny jokes. Gary loved his Church, watching sports, playing golf when he could and old cars. Gary was a simple man that didn't need a lot of things or money, but the things he valued most was his salvation and his family.
Gary aka Papa, Grandpa, and Dad was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 1, 2022, after battling renal disease. He leaves behind his devoted wife Debbie, his three children: Tina (Danny), Stephen, and Ashleigh (Brian). Along with his seven grandchildren: Zachary, Tyler, Briana, Ashton, Phillip, Declan and Ryleigh and four great-grandchildren: Onyx, Memphis, Tatum and Juliana. His Brother: Uthant McGregor (Linda). He also leaves behind many many loved ones: Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and dear friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Otis Farris, Mother, Reba McGregor, his stepfather, Gerald McGregor, sisters: Brenda Kuntz, Carolyn Kuntz and Brothers: Mickey Farris and Ronnie Mcgregor.
Celebration of Life will be at Parkview Baptist Church 3430 S. Meridian Wichita, KS 67214 at 1:00pm Saturday, July 9, 2022.
