Obituary for Frances M. Humbolt
Douglass – Frances Marie Humbolt passed Monday July 25th at the age of 90. She was born July 4th, 1932, to William and Doris Dennett in rural Rose Hill, Kansas.
Frances was passionate about her church where she started the Mother’s Day Out childcare program at the Mulvane Church of Christ, a program that is still going today at the Mulvane Methodist Church. She also enjoyed teaching others, leading Sunday School Classes and traveling to New Zealand on a month-long Campaign for Christ. At the age of 50 Frances graduated from nursing school and working for 12 years at the Rose Hill Nursing Home until her retirement. Frances transitioned her care for others into her hobbies of vegetable and flower gardening and raising all kinds of animals.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 72 Years, Carl Humbolt, as well as her three brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her three children, Carol, Vaughn, and Bruce as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, August 11th, 2022, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Smith Family Mortuary Mulvane Chapel 501 SE Louis Blvd. Mulvane, KS 67110. Graveside Service: 10:00am, Friday, August 12, 2022 at Mulvane Cemetery East 119th Street S Mulvane, KS 67110. Internment to follow at Mulvane Cemetery.
