Donna was born on January 14, 1958, in Wichita Kansas to James and Edith Kennedy. She was the
middle of three children and the mother of six.
Donna was a caregiver throughout her adult life. She ran her own daycare as well as took care of all her kid’s
friends. After her children were grown Donna began doing home health care for the elderly. Donna loved
going camping, fishing, and cooking over the campfire. She enjoyed working in the yard and fixing things
around the house. All of Donna’s down time was spent watching her kids and eventually her grandkids play
sports. While Donna had many titles in life, her favorite one was wife. Donna and Carl were married for forty
years when she passed.
Donna was diagnosed with lung cancer in August of 2020. She battled until the end, never losing her faith in
God. She looked forward to being reunited with her family and friends that God had already called home.
She is preceded in death by both parents, James and Edith Kennedy, her brother Doug Kennedy, her Daughter
Autumn Bohannon and son Tyson Wells. She is survived by her Husband Carl E. Wells of Douglass, sister
Connie Smith and husband of Emporia, son Damian Wells of Wichita, daughters Amber Braddy and husband of
Ward Arkansas, Echo Nevarez and husband of Wichita, and Rian Bascombe and husband of Augusta. As well as
fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Donna will be on at 1:00pm on January 14 th at the First Baptist Church 107 South Maple Douglass,
Kansas.
A memorial has been set up with the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
