Cordelia Mae (Davis) Hinshaw, the daughter of Ross and Gladys (Hamilton) Davis, was born April 16, 1933. In 1940, the family moved to Derby, Kansas and in 1945, the family moved to Rose Hill. Cordelia graduated from Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. She and Galen Hinshaw were married July 31, 1955. She passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Visitation 1-8 pm Sunday, April 23, with family receiving friends 5-7 pm, Smith Mortuary 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10 am Monday, April 24, Rose Hill Friends Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Lawrence Davis; and three sons, Kevin, Kelly and Kirk. She is survived by her husband, Galen Hinshaw; a daughter, Karen Staley, of Emporia; a daughter-in-law, Caterina Hinshaw, of Midway, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Brooks, of Emporia, Travis Spires, of Emporia, and Lorissa Hinshaw of Wimberley, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Althea and Cordelia Kelley of Emporia; a sister, Viola Nelson, of Russellville, Arkansas; a brother, Don (Charlene) Davis, of Neosho, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Howard (Roselea) Nellis, of Olathe; a sister-in-law, Oreta (Paul) Burnham, of Rose Hill; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
