Derby, Cody A Miller 64, died Wednesday, September 6th, 2023.at Wesley Medical Center, He was born July 28th, 1959 to Robert and Judy (Lambert) Dalton in Wichita, KS.

Cody was a man of faith, integrity, kindness and lifelong curiosity. Without a doubt his legacy was lived in how he loved his daughter Brodi and wife Sharon. Cody had a way of living life a bit complicated and it started early when he entered into the world being born at home before an ambulance could even arrive. Growing up in Derby KS, Cody enjoyed time with his siblings and good friends as they fished, rode gocarts and 4-wheelers, and spent time enjoying lake life and occasionally venturing over to Joyland. Cody dearly love his grandparents Ruth and Everett Dalton who took him on day trips, movie dates and even trips to California. As a young adult Cody attended USC in Los Angeles where he graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering. His career included working as an estimator and later as a director of operations for aeronautical companies in Wichita. Cody was devoted to his daughter Brodi and as a by-product he was the president of the board of the Calvary Christian School. Cody's faith was strong and church was an intregal part of his life. He and his mother Judy and step-father Don Heaton attended church faithfully and it was there that Cody met Sharon Nelson, who ended up being his best friend and wife. When Cody and Sharon married in 2005, they created a family of six daughters who added a level of chaos and laughter. Cody and Sharon shared many years of joy, companionship and a shared love of many dogs and exotic birds. Cody and Sharon's marriage was a testament to commitment in sickness and in health. While his mind was brilliant, Cody's body was difficult, but despite the health struggles, they enjoyed each other's company including many hours spent side by side in recliners enjoying their favorite sports teams, the Kansas City Cheifs, KC Royals and Wichita State Shockers.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Judy Heaton, step father Don Heaton, grandparents Ruth and Everett Dalton, Roy Lambert and Anna Hamilton, and aunt Kathy Penachio.
