Haysville - Spicer, Claude J. 91, passed away Tuesday, January 12th, 2021. He was born December 13th, 1929 to Alvie Spicer and Arie Gillenwater Spicer in McComas, West Virginia. Claude retired after 30 years from the U.S. Army Air Force. He served during WWII, Berlin Air Lift, Korean War and the Vietnam War. He also retired from the Sedgwick County Court House after 25 years of service. Claude served a term as Grand Master for the Masonic Lodge in Haysville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Myrtle Juanita Spicer; parents, seven siblings, and son-in-law, Darryl Ogden. Claude is survived by his son, Kelly Spicer (Sonja); daughters, Kathie Allen (Cliff), Karen Ogden; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Evelyn Berry, Brenda Jones (Ted), Linda Arnold (Drew); brother, Eddie Spicer (Carolyn). A private Graveside Service will be held at Waco Cemetery in Haysville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Honor Flight.
