Obituary for Cheryl Kay Oliver

Cheryl Kay Oliver, 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021.

Cheryl was born October 31st, 1957 in Newton, Kansas to Charles J and Claudetta ‘Kay’ (Smith) Oliver. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1975 and went to St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and graduated from their nursing program as an RN in 1978. Cheryl served as a nurse all of her life. Cheryl also got her EMT license with the State of Kansas and volunteered with Sedgwick County EMS. Cheryl enjoyed traveling, photography, and butterflies. She collected photos of butterflies and angel figurines. Cheryl spent several years in the Sky Ryders Drum & Bugle Corp. and enjoyed going to drum corp contests.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Melanie K Beery. Cheryl is survived by her brother, Michael Oliver (Cyndi); nephew, Daniel Oliver (Michelle); aunt Roberta Oliver as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed spending time with her church friends from The Ministry Of Jesus Church as well as her longtime friend Jackie Loughridge and her extended family.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, June 18th at Central Community Church Chapel, 6100 W Maple, Wichita, KS. at 10:00 am. There will be a luncheon to follow in the church atrium.
