Charlie L. Blanton, age 69, loving husband, father and grandfather, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of November 6, 2023. Charlie was born September 15, 1954 to Louis and Betty Blanton in Fort Hood, Texas. He married the love of his life, Sherry, on November 19, 2011. Charlie was an avid fisherman, hunter, grill master, and semi-professional rugby player. He also loved his Kansas City Chiefs, second only to his family. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Betty Blanton, stepdaughter Shawna Rowley, and fur baby Coon. He is survived by his adoring wife Sherry Mahlandt-Blanton, daughters Mistie, Terra and Katie, sons Tyler (Jess), Ryan (Logan), Colt (Jaimie) and Rayce (Hannah), fur children Dozer and Roo, as well as 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday, November 10, 2023 at Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church, 6161 S. Meridian, Wichita, Kansas. Burial to follow at Longton Cemetery in Longton, Kansas at 2:30 pm. The family encourages Kansas City Chiefs attire be worn to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Wichita Animal Action League (WAAL) and
Bridgeport Missionary Baptist Church Youth Fund.
