Carolyn Joanne Burchfiel, beloved wife, mother and Nana drew her last breath on 07/21/2020 after a battle with diabetes. She went to be with the Lord peacefully with her husband by her side.

Carolyn was born in a log cabin in Rider, Mayes County, Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 9, 1938. She met the love of her life in Wichita, Kansas and celebrated over 63 years of marriage with Larry Burchfiel. They raised three children. She worked various jobs before retiring from the insurance business in 2012. She loved reading and amassed a collection of books she shared with her sister for many years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Irene Thompson and sister Charlaine Reeves. She leaves behind to mourn her a loving family in her husband Larry and her children, Cherrie Wilson (Al), Greg Burchfiel (Kathy) and James Burchfiel (Cheryl) as well as 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Carolyn will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at KS Medical Center in Andover, Kansas for their care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2020 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Smith Family Mortuary.
A graveside service is planned for 11:00 am Wednesday July 29, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Derby.
