Obituary for Anna Jean Bounous (McCanless)

Derby - Bounous, Anna Jean, 75, passed away Friday, March 17th, 2023. She was born June 21st, 1947 to Burl and Mary (Donnell) McCanless in Pueblo, Colorado.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister & friend. She was a retired microbiologist at Wesley Medical Center. She loved to garden, visit zoos with her daughter and grandchildren, fishing, and hunting. Her nickname was Annie Oakley to some, or Anna Banana to her coworkers. She enjoyed line dancing with the Spinning Boots, breaking into a step or two any chance she got. She loved her pets, was entertained by purple martins, and took many photos of flowers, animals, and nature. She knew Jesus as a shepherd, who provided comfort to his flock in times of need. Anna asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior while attending a Campus Crusade for Christ event as a student at WSU. With that solid foundation of faith, she raised 2 children as a single mom with both love and dedication. This faith also helped her through more difficult times providing care for her daughter until the Lord called Amy to her eternal heavenly home.
Mom, you will be missed, not forgotten; you have a new heavenly body and mind, which in turn, provides peace to those who grieve on earth.
2 Corinthians 5:1-10
