Iris Dorreen Beatty Cole, age 94, of Wichita, KS, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018. She was born January 18, 1924 to Curtiss and Grace (Smith) Beatty.

She attended Greensburg High School and on March 9, 1942 she was united in marriage with Ray Cole. She had worked at many jobs and always enjoyed meeting the public. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, knitting, talking and visiting with everyone. She was a Christian and very active in her church during her lifetime.

Iris is survived by, daughter, Dorene Cochran of Wichita, KS, son, Harold (Rusty) Cole of St. Louis, MO, and daughter, Judy and husband Richard Reedy, of Arkansas City, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Gene Beatty of Germany, and a sister, Francis and husband Jim Poyner of Berryville, AK, and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and 9 siblings.

Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Meridian Avenue Baptist Church in Wichita with Rev. Roger Megli officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 13, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smith Mortuary in Derby, KS.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meridian Avenue Baptist Church in mother’s name.
